How to Connect Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to WaveRez
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) provides powerful tracking and analytics capabilities for your WaveRez booking portal. This guide will walk you through the process of obtaining your GA4 Measurement ID and connecting it to your WaveRez account.
Part 1: Getting Your GA4 Measurement ID
- Sign in to Google Analytics - Visit analytics.google.com and log in with your Google account.
- Select or create a property - If you already have a GA4 property, open it. If not, you’ll need to create a new one.
- Go to Admin - Click Admin in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Find Data Streams - Under the Property section (middle column), select Data Streams.
- Choose your platform - Select Web (or Android App/iOS App if applicable).
- Copy your Measurement ID - In the stream settings, you'll find your GA4 Measurement ID. It starts with G- followed by a series of letters and numbers (e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX). Copy this ID.
Part 2: Adding GA4 to WaveRez
- Log in to WaveRez - Access your WaveRez account.
- Navigate to Settings - Go to Settings > System Setup > Configurations.
- Locate the GA4 ID field - Scroll down to find the Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID field.
- Paste your Measurement ID - Enter the GA4 Measurement ID you copied from Google Analytics (e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX).
- Save your changes - Click Save to apply the configuration.
What Events Does GA4 Track?
Once connected, GA4 will automatically track key booking events on your WaveRez portal:
- purchase - Completing a purchase
- add_to_cart - Adding items to the cart
- remove_from_cart - Removing items from the cart
- begin_checkout - Starting the checkout process
- view_item - Viewing a product/trip
- select_item - Selecting an item from a list
