Creating Affiliate Links

Create a New User (or Use an Existing One)

To track bookings through a special link, you'll first need a user account to tie the tracking to.

Create a new user for each website, affiliate, or partner you want to track separately.

You don't need to give this user actual access to WaveRez โ€” itโ€™s just used for tracking.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Example: Create a user named exampleuser

Go to your booking portal and copy the URL.

Or, if you want to link directly to a specific trip, grab that tripโ€™s URL instead.

Add the Tracking Parameter to the URL

Now, attach the user you created to the link by adding:

?from=USERNAME

to the end of the URL.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Example using a booking portal link:

https://reservations.waverez.com/YOUR_URL?from=exampleuser

๐Ÿ‘‰ Example linking directly to a trip:

https://reservations.waverez.com/YOUR_URL/details/TRIP_ID?from=exampleuser

What Happens Next?

When someone books through that special link:

Their booking will be automatically tagged with the user's name you set in the link.

You can easily track and pay out affiliates by running an Agent Sales Report.

Important Notes:

The user is only for tracking โ€” they donโ€™t need login access unless you want them to.

Orders made from the link are tracked for up to 7 days after the customer clicks.

This is different from setting up Affiliate Accounts in WaveRez. Here, we're simply tagging the order by the user. IF you want someone to be able to access WaveRez using this username, then do not use the affiliate checkbox.
