How to Use Trip Options
Under Settings > Resources > Trips > click on a trip > Options tab
Here you will find a place to set up a variety of different options. Options can be anything from add-ons to questions required at the time of booking. We even have a place to add 1 percentage based option that can used for things like Trip Protection.
Each trip has its own set of options. So if you want to ask a particular question for all trips, you need to add it to all the trips one by one.
Options can be either a selection of answers in a drop down that you create or a box for the customer to write their own answer.
Please note that options do not sync with availability. You cannot use these options to add additional equipment to an order. It will not remove that equipment from available inventory. This can cause overbooking if used in this manner. Option inventory (such as go pros, water mats, inflatables, etc) must be managed manually.
Here's an example of an option set up as a question with preset answers:

Here you can see the option name is the question. The values were added with the add value button in the top right above the remove buttons. The tool tip adds a description under the drop down menu.

This option is set as required so that the customer (and internal reservations) must answer it before proceeding (see the above photo how the box is red and has an * notating it's required).
The values are 1-12 and price is set at 0 because we aren't charging for additional passengers. We set it up this way to alert customers to the fact that they cannot have more than 12 passengers in total.
We could also set up this option as a text instead of select. If we do this all values go away and a text box that the customer can type into replaces the drop down.
Options can also be used for add-ons such as a go pro rental. We would type in option name "Go Pro Rental" and make the value yes or no. Yes would have a price and no would be 0. We can also choose to not make this mandatory but I suggest putting a No answer even if not required because some customers may not realize they can skip it.
There is also a percent based option:

Here we can type an option name and tooltip the same as before. The difference here is that you can only have 1 percentage based value (this amount calculated after taxes). You can currently only set up 1 percent based option as well. There will also be a Decline value on the drop down for the customer's side as it's not mandatory to select the 1 value. This option is most commonly used for Trip Protection. Trip Protection is a set amount charged to the customer in order to allow them to cancel at any time and get a refund of the order except the amount of the trip protection. Setup for this will look like this:

The last type of option is a Boaters Test:

This option has a name and tooltip along with the other settings that are present for all options. The difference with this one is the ability to have a value that has a link applied. This link comes from Settings > System Setup > Configurations > Order Settings > Boaters Test Option.
