How to Set Up Booking Portal Categories in WaveRez V1

Booking portal categories allow you to organize your trips by activity type, making it easier for customers to browse and book on your online reservation portal. For example, you might have categories like Jet Ski Rentals, Parasailing, Tours, or Pontoon Rentals.

These categories will be reflected on your live booking portal, letting users filter and view trips by activity.

Step-by-Step Instructions

From the WaveRez Dashboard, go to:

Settings > System Setup > Configurations > Booking Portal Settings

Enable the Categories Feature

Check the box labeled “Use Categories Feature” to activate trip categorization.

Add or Edit Categories

Click "ADD A TRIP CATEGORY" to create a category that is specific to your company.

Enter a Category Name

Give your category a clear and descriptive name such as “Tours”, “Dolphin Cruises”, or “Jet Ski Rentals”.

Assign Trips to Categories

Use the dropdown or checkbox list to assign existing trips to your new category.

Add a Category Image

Click “Browse” to upload an image. This will appear on your public booking portal.

Save Changes

After configuring everything, scroll down and click “Save” to apply your changes.

What Customers See on the Booking Portal

Once set up, customers will see categories displayed with images and titles on your booking homepage. Clicking "View" under a category reveals all trips assigned to it.
