What is this?
You can now connect your WaveRez account to Claude (an AI assistant) and simply ask it questions about your business in plain English.
Instead of running reports or digging through spreadsheets, you type something like "How were my sales last month?" and get an instant answer, often as a clean table or summary.
Think of it as adding a knowledgeable assistant who already knows your WaveRez numbers and is happy to answer, anytime.
What you'll need
A Claude account — free or paid (claude.ai).
Your WaveRez login — it must be a user account with admin permissions. Setup won't complete with a non-admin login.
About 5 minutes, one time, to set it up.
What it can do
Just ask, in your own words. For example:
"What were my total sales for July?"
"Which of my trips are booked up next weekend?"
"What's the starting price for each of my activities?"
"Show me my bookings for July 12th as a table."
It can turn any answer into a table, summary, or simple chart — just ask.
What it can't do (the reassuring part)
It's read-only. It can look at your data and answer questions, but it cannot change, cancel, or book anything. You can't break anything by asking.
It only ever sees your own WaveRez account's data.
How to connect it (one-time setup)
Log in to Claude (claude.ai) and open Settings.
Click Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
In the name field, type: WRMCP
In the URL field, paste:
https://api.waverez.com/ai/mcpClick Connect. You'll be asked to sign in to your WaveRez account to verify it's you — this is how it securely links to your data. The account you sign in with must have admin permissions; if it doesn't, the connection won't finish. Sign in as you normally would.
That's it — you're connected. You only have to do this once.
How to use it
Start a new chat and ask a question like the examples above. A few tips:
Be specific with dates. "Sales for July 2026" works better than "recent sales."
Ask follow-ups. "Now break that down by trip," or "put that in a table."
Rephrase if needed. If the answer isn't quite what you wanted, just ask again a different way.
You don't need to learn any special commands — if you can ask a question, you can use it.
Once you're comfortable, ask the bigger questions
These take a little more from the assistant, but they're where the real insights are. Ask them the same way — in plain English — and add "show it as a table" or "as a chart" anytime.
"Compare my online bookings, staff-entered bookings, and OTA bookings (like GetYourGuide) for this month versus the same month last year — did any grow or shrink?"
"Which of my trips sell the most add-ons, and which barely sell any? Where should I focus on upselling?"
"How has my average group size changed compared to last year — and how much of any revenue change is price versus bigger groups?"
"How far in advance are people booking this month compared to last month? Are they leaning more last-minute?"
"What time of day do my customers actually book? When would be the best time to send a promo email or run an ad?"
"Which of my scheduled departures ran with the fewest people this month? Are any worth combining or dropping?"
"Compare my weekend versus weekday trips this month — which brings in more, and how do they differ?"
"How's this month pacing compared to the same month last year — and is any trip falling behind?"
One tip for these: ask about one month at a time (or the same month in two different years, to compare). The assistant works best in one-month chunks.
Prefer ChatGPT? (Business plans only)
Important: Connecting to ChatGPT currently works only on a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan. It does not work on Free, Plus, or Pro accounts yet. If you're on one of those, please use Claude above instead — the experience is the same.
If you do have a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan:
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors. (A workspace admin may first need to enable custom connectors for your team and turn on Developer Mode under Advanced settings.)
Choose to add a custom connector (ChatGPT may label this Apps or Plugins — the steps are the same).
In the name field, type: WRMCP
In the URL field, paste:
https://api.waverez.com/ai/mcpSet Authentication to OAuth, check the box to confirm you trust the connector, then click Create.
Click Sign in with WRMCP and sign in to your WaveRez admin account to finish connecting.
Once connected, you use it exactly like Claude — just ask your questions in plain English.
ChatGPT: tips & troubleshooting
Test it first. After connecting, start a new chat and try something small — "Using WaveRez, show me five recent bookings" — and check the results are your data before running bigger reports. (In ChatGPT you may need to begin with "Using WaveRez, …" so it knows to pull your numbers.)
Double-check important numbers. It's great for quick insight — but before using a total for accounting or a big decision, compare it against the matching report in WaveRez.
If it won't connect or stops working:
Can't find where to add a connector? You need a compatible paid plan, and an admin may need to enable custom connectors and Developer Mode first.
Won't finish connecting? Make sure you signed in with a WaveRez admin account and the address is exactly
https://api.waverez.com/ai/mcp.Worked before, stopped now? Open the connection and reconnect; if that fails, remove it and add it again.
An answer looks off? Ask about a shorter date range, one category at a time, and have it show the totals in a table so you can check them.
Still stuck? Contact WaveRez support and we'll help — ChatGPT support is newer than Claude, and we're still smoothing out the setup. When you reach out, tell us what you asked and any error you saw, but never include your password or a login code.
